A Taste of Spain in Tapella Restobar

Wondering how authentic Spanish cuisine tastes like? Look no further, Tapella has got you covered. They serve modern Spanish cuisine that you will surely love.

Chef JP Ozamis, the man behind Tapella's menu.

Before anything else, you are greeted and served their complimentary bread, soft and fresh.

Here are some of my favorites from their Menu.

Tuna Ceviche - Chopped tuna dressed with vinegar and lemon. Best paired with their shrimp crackers.

This dish is the perfect appetizer, it's light, tasty and will definitely start up your appetite.

Boqueones - This is an anchovy dish, dosed and topped with garlic and some olive oil. This dish is seasonal and I was just lucky that this was available when I visited them.

El De Carne - Angus Beef marinated in a blend of paprika and Moroccan spices.

Their El De Carne is tender, well seasoned and perfectly cooked, I might add. Each bite will take you to experience Turkish spices.

Chopitos Fritos - Deep Fried baby squid using their secret batter with aioli on the side.

Carpaccio De Ternera

This was my first time to eat beef carpaccio, some us were hesitant at first since this is raw beef, but when I ate one and put it inside my mouth, it melted almost instantly. The beef, together with the manchego cheese and olive oil, tasted really good that I wanted more.

Here's a closer look.

Paella Marisco, - This is their seafood paella. What I love about this dish is the generosity of the seafood ("hindi tinipid") and of course the flavorful taste of the dish. You can also ask them if you want your rice a little burnt to your liking.

A closer look :)

The Chuleton Villagodio

Saving the best for last. This is the Chuleton Villagodio. This baby right here is usually served half cooked cut of meat and it will be finished cooking on a hot plate.

I actually can eat this already (it's that good) but it will be more flavorful if we let it finish in the hot plate.

Cooking is finished here in their well seasoned plate.

Want one?

Man, I made sure to grab a few pieces of that steak. It was cooked perfectly and that plate really helped up the flavor of the steak. Will definitely order this when I come back.

After that sumptuous meal, you can order sangrias to wind down.

Their House Sangria which is served in a pitcher.

Or you can order 1 from their 4 different types of specialty Sangria.

4 types of Sangria
Ronin – White Sangria which is infused with Sake and topped with lychee.
Banzai – This one is infused with cucumber juice, sake, which is topped with candied ginger.
Don Roberto – Their version of the classic red sangria
Rico J – This was actually named after one of their regulars (and here I thought it was the famous singer before HAHA) at Tapella. This drink is infused with manzonilla sherry.

Tapella really has good food, nice ambiance and great service. No wonder, even people from outside our country patronize their dishes.

Go ahead and try Tapella out and tell me which ones did you love the most.
